William Friedkin, first Grand Honorary Award winner at Sitges' 50th anniversary
Asian director Johnnie To and Mexican Guillermo del Toro –Godfather of the fiftieth anniversary– will also be at Sitges 2017
The Festival has already announced the attendance of two exemplary directors in the history genre films: William Friedkin and Johnnie To, among many other leading figures who will disclosed over the upcoming months.
Two masters of horror and thrillers will be at Sitges 2017. William Friedkin –the director known throughout the world for films like The Exorcist, The French Connection or Sorcerer–will be receiving the Festival’s Grand Honorary Award; and Johnnie To –prime example of Asian film noir with movies like Drug War or Election and winner of the Time Machine Award at Sitges 2005, handed to him personally by Quentin Tarantino– will also be visiting Sitges.These attending guests are added to Guillermo del Toro, who will be the Godfather of the Festival’s 50th anniversary.
