The preview of 'Kong: Skull Island' is added to the list of events for the Festival's 50th anniversary
The celebration of the Sitges Film Festival’s 50’s anniversary is starting to rev its engines with the preview of one of the movies of the year: Kong: Skull Island, starring the Festivals’ emblem: the legendary King Kong. The Festival and Warner Bros are organizing the preview for this upcoming March 9th at the Phenomena movie theater in Barcelona at a gala ceremony to be attended by actors and actresses, directors, producers and other representatives of the audiovisual world.
Kong: Skull Island, directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, is inspired by the novel created and illustrated by Joe DeVito and written by Brad Strickland and John Michlig. The work is considered to be the official, authorized derivative of the 1933 King Kong. Kong: Skull Island follows a team of explorers (headed by Tom Hiddleston) who venture into the depths of the mysterious island to find the brother of Hiddleston’s character, as well as a much-needed serum. Along the way, they run into a bunch of extraordinary creatures, including the legendary King Kong.
The presentation of the film is just one of the many events that, all throughout the year, will be accompanying the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Festival through a lineup that the organization will be presenting over the next few weeks and which is endorsed by director Guillermo del Toro. The preview of this film joins the rest of the initiatives already launched in early February in Los Angeles, where the Festival presented its project hand in hand with the prestigious Creative Artists Agency (CAA), considered to be the most important talent agency in the world.
The preview on this upcoming 9th will be attended by different talents and representatives from the film industry. The Festival will be raffling off tickets via its Facebook page, starting this Monday 6th.
