SITGES and MORITZ have signed an agreement to collaborate for three years, during which time the emblematic Barcelona brand will be the Festival’s official beer.
After several years of collaboration, Moritz has strengthened its relationship with the SITGES – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia for three more years during which time a series of brand activities will be developed related to the Festival’s theme.
Besides designing a limited edition of the bottle for guests and the Festival’s official parties, Moritz reaches fantastic cinema fans through social networks, contests and very special gifts.
In the social networks where Moritz is present, a series of activities to give away tickets and SITGES – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia and Moritz merchandising packs. In Facebook the beer brands fans are invited to attend the premiere of the film Eva” by Kike Maíllo that opened the Festival and to the opening party with the MoritzBus. There will also be a contest to attend the screening of the closing film “The Thing” plus the Festival’s closing party.
Moreover, Moritz –in collaboration with ABB– has recreated a robot that will ‘offer’ a bottle –limited edition– to some of the visitors who stop by the Hotel Melià. This robotic arm is programmed to be able to pick up a bottle, open it and offer it to the customer.
In addition, an actor encourages the people in line to see movies to participate in a contest imitating the movements of a robot, inspired by the Festival’s theme, Artificial Intelligence. The best robot imitators will win Festival and Moritz prizes.
As for Twitter, Moritz is daily giving away invitations for films screened at the Festival through contests where the ask fans questions about the Festival.
Moritz has designed a specific communication campaign for SITGES 2011. “Beer and microchips”, connected to the Festival’s leitmotif this year, artificial intelligence and the robot environment.
